Battle Ground Alma Mater

The following email message was sent to me by Bob Carter:

"An idea. Our class wrote the Battle Ground Alma Mater and if you remember the first time it was sung was our graduation night. The writers of the words were Don Clark, Jane Larsen, Ann Pettichord and me. Might our old alma mater be of some value in our Reunion?"

I responded to Bob affirming that we would like to do the Alma Mater our class wrote for Battle Ground High at the upcoming reunion. I also asked him to provide us with the lyrics (below) and am encouraging him to come up with an audio file that I can place on this site so we can all relearn (or, in some cases learn for the first time) and be prepared to sing it together at the reunion.

Let's stand and sing of Battle Ground
of years that soon depart,
of memories and joys we share,
and hold within our hearts.

Our loyalties to you are true,
your colors we proudly wear,
a pledge of faith we give to you
your triumphs we will share.

And, as the years go fleeting by
with many memories rare,
we'll treasure the years at Battle Ground High
and the Alma Mater we share.
